How do You scan for TV channels for U.S.A. using this code?

Ubuntu @ November 25, 2008   Views:0

Ubunteros,

My T.V. card is installed and works. Meaning I can see television programs.

Now I would like to use VLC to record broadcasts. Reading Ubuntu forums those users living in Europe seem to have it easy.

I found this code:

ls /usr/share/doc/dvb-utils/examples/scan/dvb-t/ | grep uk-

Which is suppose to scan for channels in the U.K. but I want channels for u.s.a.. I modified the end of the code to US & united stats but nothing worked.

Is their anyone that can advise what to do.

MAYBE dvb-t isn't even available in the U.S.?

I have been using this link for the info I found:

Thanks for YOUR help!

A recent episode of "systm" dealt witht this in a way.

However, it was using Myth tv.

If you are willing to try Myth tv, go here:
