window placement on desktop

Ubuntu @ May 8, 2013   Views:0

I know there is a setting I must be missing, but I sure can't find it.

Any window I open always opens in the upper left corner. I want them to open in the middle of the desktop. How can I do this? I have unchecked the box for 'snap window to screen boarder' in window manager. And also checked box for center window placement in window tweaks. (See attached thumbnails). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

--------------Solutions-------------

move the slider in the second screenshot to the right, that should make it open them in the middle, some programs remember there location when you open them again

That did it !!! Thank you very much! I knew it had to be something simple .

How do you mark a thread as solved?

hit "edit post" on your first post, select "go advanced", and select prefix "Solved"

directions are illustrated here

Thank you!
